VALERIA CORINALDESI got Master Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Ancona (Italy) in 1998 (110/110 cum laude and awarded dissertation), Ph.D. in Materials' Engineering at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2002.
Since January 2005 to October 2015, she held a permanent position as researcher. Since October 2015 she is Associate Professor at Università Politecnica delle Marche of Ancona (Italy), where she is teaching ‘Materiali strutturali per l’ingegneria civile’ and 'Tecnologia dei Materiali'.
Her main research interests are focused on cement-based composites for structural applications as well as for design, with a particular attention on both performance and sustainability issues.
She is author of more than 200 publications on peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings and co-inventor of 2 patents.
She is member of the editorial board of the ‘Journal of Building Engineering’ (ISSN: 2352-7102), of the World Road Association-PIARC, Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports, CT 4.3 “Road Bridges”, of the American Concrete Institute - Italy Chapter, of AIMAT (Associazione italiana di Ingegneria dei MATeriali), of INSTM Consortium with an active role on the GTTS named “Strategie, metodi e strumenti” in the Cluster “Fabbrica Intelligente”.
Winner of the Business Plan competition Ecapital 2003 with the innovative idea "Aggiunta Minerale per Calcestruzzo (A.Mi.Ca.)", based on the industrial patent n. 0001420870.
